Custodian
Reports to: Facilities Engineer
Position Summary:
Keep buildings in a clean and orderly condition. Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish.
General Responsibilities:
Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees.
Dust furniture, walls, machines, or equipment.
Gather and empty trash.
Service, clean, and supply restrooms
Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
Set up, arrange, or remove decorations, tables, or chairs to prepare facilities for events, such as banquets or meetings.
Special projects as assigned
Physical Abilities:
Stand and walk for minimum of 8 hours a day
Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, 10 – 15 lbs continuously
Ability to keep up with the physical demands to sweep and mop all floors
Requirements:
Ability to prioritize cleaning checklist
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Conduct self in a professional manner in front of customers and fellow employees.
Knowledge of the standard methods, practices, tools and equipment used to clean a public facility.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety rules/regulations
