Sales Engineer - Environmental

Reports to: VP of Sales

Position Summary:

Technical sales engineers are a key point of contact for clients, working with them during the entire process from inquiry to start-up and providing both pre and after-sales advice. They collaborate regularly with other members of the sales team and colleagues from a range of departments, such as:

- Research and Development

- Design and Engineering

- Purchasing

- Production

- Senior Company Managers

General Responsibilities:

  • Generate leads via trade shows, networking, current customers, etc.

  • Meet with customers to help them understand and define their needs

  • Maintain client relationships

  • Draft equipment layout and concepts in AutoCAD to determine size

  • Write proposals and addendums

  • Price systems

  • Work with engineering team during fabrication and start-up assisting with any issues that arise


  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD

  • Background in Paint and Coatings


  • A solid technical background in finishing system industry

  • Sales skills

  • Communication skills

  • Sound judgement and good business sense

  • Organizational skills

  • Ability to work well within a team

  • The ability to build relationships quickly and effectively

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Resilience and tenacity

  • Independence and self-reliance

  • Foreign language skills are a plus
