SolidWorks/PDM System Administrator
Reports to: VP of Engineering
Position Summary:
This full-time position will be responsible for administering DraftSight, SolidWorks, and SolidWorks PDM. The System Administrator will be responsible for assisting coworkers with day-to-day questions, managing model libraries, and creating standards. The System Administrator will be required to work with management, IT, engineering, and production to create and improve standards, guidelines, and workflows improving efficiency within engineering and production.
General Responsibilities:
Support all departments troubleshooting end-user SolidWorks technical challenges.
Oversee the existing framework of SolidWorks, SolidWorks PDM and DraftSight
Maintain daily efficiency and system health as well as other important tasks such as managing PDM user permissions, PDM workflows, and licensing usage.
Staying current with ‘What’s New’ within the SolidWorks suite of products.
Identifying new products, processes, techniques, and Add-Ins that would be of benefit to the Engineering department and, ultimately, the company.
Instrumental in implementing any newly proposed improvements and key to training SolidWorks users.
Work with IT, to navigate the infrastructure in hardware and software that is needed for SolidWorks and PDM to work reliably and efficiently. For example, but not limited to, necessary maintenance and annual upgrades.
Work with other internal departments such as Service, Sales, Production, and with outside resources such as SolidWorks technical support.
Work with Production to develop and maintain build standards, and match design approach with production equipment
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
Knowledge of SolidWorks, Simulation, and SolidWorks PDM Professional.
3 years minimum experience with 3D modeling and using a Product Data Management system.
Proficient at prioritizing and managing multiple projects.
Knowledge of CAD and PDM best practices.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
Personable, approachable, and capable of teaching.
Strong attention to detail.
