Field Installation Pipefitters
Reports to: Installation Manager
Position Summary:
This is a traveling position. Our installation crews travel to our various job sites throughout the United States and internationally, installing the piping systems for our custom paint systems.
TTX's headquarters is in Sturgeon Bay, WI. Travel to Sturgeon Bay for training or work may be required from time to time.
TTX offers competitive pay, plenty of overtime, road bonuses paid for each night spent in the field, per diem, and paid lodging.
General Responsibilities:
Field Installation Pipefitters layout and install piping, fittings, valves, pumps, floats, heat exchangers, tank penetrations and misc. system equipment for our industrial finishing systems. Pipefitters must be able to read and interpret piping schematics and detail drawings. Pipefitters must also be experienced with the fitting and joining of PVC, CPVC, black steel, and stainless-steel plumbing materials using threaded, glued, flanged and welded connections.

Required Skills:
Read and understand schematics and detail drawings for layout, installation and troubleshooting
Read and do layout with tape measures, levels, square, dividers, rule, plumb bob, string lines, etc.
Common cutting tools such as the band saw, cut off saw, hand plasma torch, tubing cutter, saws-all, hole saw, drill, etc.
Cut pipe threads with hand and electric powered pipe thread cutting tools
Use hand tools to assemble pipe
Safe use of powered lifts and ladders
Proper use of pipe cement, pipe thread compound, sealing tape etc
Identify and correct improper operation of installed plumbing systems
Proper use of GMAW(MIG) and GTAW(TIG) welding and brazing equipment.
Effectively communicate and coordinate with Mechanical and Electrical Leadmen and Project Management
Physical requirements:
Must be able to stand for a minimum of up to 11 hours per day, with frequent kneeling, squatting, crawling or climbing ladders.
Frequent bending, twisting, reaching and grasping
Frequently lift parts up to 50 lbs.
Must have good eyesight with the ability to read drawings, small print, and see work pieces clearly
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
5 – 10 years of pipefitting experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
Completion of a formal apprenticeship program or technical education certificate or degree preferred
State license preferred
Ability to travel and work in the field a minimum of 75% of the year.
Ability to travel internationally.
