Celebrating the Career of Jeff Wienke

After more than four decades dedicated to the finishing industry, and two decades with Therma-Tron-X, Jeff Wienke is beginning a well-earned retirement.

Jeff’s career has been anything but ordinary. Originally trained as an art teacher, an unexpected career change in the mid-1980s led him to study AutoCAD and enter the finishing industry as a designer. What followed was a remarkable career built on curiosity, creativity, technical knowledge, and a genuine passion for solving problems.

Jeff progressed from designer to project engineer and eventually into sales engineering, spending 18 years at Eiseman working on large and complex electrocoating systems for automotive manufacturers in the United States and around the world. Along the way, he became a true student of finishing technology, developing an understanding not only of the equipment, but of the chemistry, material handling, process interactions, and countless details that determine whether a finishing system performs as intended.

In 2008, Jeff brought that experience to TTX.

Over the years, he has helped develop and deliver an extraordinary range of electrocoat systems for automotive and industrial customers. Jeff has never approached sales as simply selling equipment. He approaches each project as an engineering challenge: understand the customer's process, identify the problem, and develop a system that works.

That approach also led to one of the notable accomplishments of his career. Jeff is a named inventor on U.S. Patent No. 10,457,493 B1, “Indexing Conveyor System and Method,” a material handling concept developed to improve positioning, synchronization, repeatability, and ultimately the performance of electrocoating operations.

But Jeff’s contribution to the industry extends beyond the systems he has helped design and sell. He attended some of the earliest electrocoat conferences, has spoken at industry events, and has taught seminars and given various presentations throughout his career. In doing so, he has shared knowledge accumulated through decades of experience with customers, colleagues, and others throughout the finishing industry.

Those who have worked with Jeff know that his expertise was earned one project, one problem, and one lesson at a time. Jeff became an engineer of finishing system technology in every way that matters.

Tomorrow, Jeff begins a new chapter.

Jeff, thank you for the knowledge you have shared, the customers you have served, the problems you have solved, and the contribution you have made to TTX and the finishing industry. Most of all, thank you for the years you have spent working alongside us.

Your experience will be difficult to replace, your contributions will continue to be reflected in the systems we build, and your presence will be missed.
