Meet Brent Rankin. He has worked hard at TTX and has earned his title as Mechanical Engineer, SOLIDWORKS/PDM Administrator, Professional Engineer! He has worked at TTX for 4 years.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗷𝗼𝗯 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹? My job entails managing the SOLIDWORKS/PDM software and the library of 3D models. I also help the Engineering department with any questions regarding SOLIDWORKS, and to help people become more proficient with the program


𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻’𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁? Milk!! I don’t drink coffee or energy drinks but need milk! There was a time, a very long time, that I would drink around 4 gallons of milk a week! I have since toned that down to save some for my wife and 2 children.


𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴? I enjoy going for ATV rides up in the woods with my family, driving and sightseeing around the county, sitting around a campfire, bowling, and talking about cars (and other vehicles too)!

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗷𝗼𝗯 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹? People skills. How to work and communicate with non-engineers, customers, people of different generations, etc.


𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲? Don’t be afraid to jump in and get your hands dirty. Learn as much as you can.


𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗷𝗼𝗯? I get to visit many facilities in a wide variety of industries. From foundries to food/beverage processing, aerospace, automotive, and more, I really enjoy seeing how different products are made. It gives me an appreciation for how much effort goes into manufacturing products that we use every day.
